EVA padding can become worn, and a season of constant use and washing can take its toll, especially if they aren't removed before washing. Breakdown of the microscopic air pockets in the pads can reduce their effectiveness of absorbing and dispersing impact forces. If your top is still in good condition, replacing worn out padding can bring it a new lease of life without breaking the bank.
